Abstract
Hypertension is a major factor contributing to the development of cardiovascular disease. The development and pathogenesis of hypertension involves many factors including environment, genetics, diet, lifestyle, hormones, hemodynamics, and inflammation. Hypertension is a chronic condition characterized by elevated blood pressure in the blood vessels. It poses a significant threat to global public health and contributes to the overall burden of disease and death worldwide. The relationship between microbial infections (including bacterial infections, viral infections, and parasitic infections) and the pathogenesis of hypertension is an area of increasing interest to many researchers. Despite lacking definitive conclusions, several studies have suggested a potential relation between infection with certain microorganisms and the development of hypertension.
