Abstract

Objective: This study aimed to assess treatment adherence among outpatients with diabetes at Hue University of Medicine and Pharmacy Hospital.

Methods: A cross-sectional study was conducted on 365 diabetic outpatients from October 2023 to February 2024. Structured interviews were used to evaluate patients' adherence to various aspects of diabetes management.

Results: The results showed that 77.0% of patients adhered to medication, 63.8% to dietary recommendations, and 56.7% to physical activity. Only 25.2% regularly monitored their blood glucose levels, while 94.8% attended regular medical check-ups.

Conclusion: Overall, treatment adherence among diabetic outpatients remains suboptimal. It is essential to strengthen patient education and support interventions to improve adherence.
