Target organ damages in difficult-to-control hypertension patients in Can Tho Hospital

Abstract

Overview: Difficult-to-control hypertention is one of the leading causes of dangerous complications for target organs. Objectives: Determine the rate of some target organ damages in difficult-to-control hypertension patients at Can Tho University of Medicine and Pharmacy Hospital and Can Tho Central General Hospital. Methods: Cross-sectional descriptive study on 80 patients who came for examination and treatment and were diagnosed with difficult-to-control hypertension at Can Tho University of Medicine and Pharmacy Hospital and Can Tho Central General Hospital. Results: The rate of target organ damage recorded from research patients in heart was 78,8%, in kidney was 66,3%, and in carotid artery was 65% respectively. Conclusion: Heart damage accounts for the highest rate, and carotid artery damage accounts for the lowest rate.
