Abstract

Acute coronary syndrome is a great burden on society. Chest pain symptoms, signs of acute myocardial infarction are one of the most common causes of emergency symptoms worldwide. Myocardial infarction is diagnosed based on a number of criteria, including the quantification of troponin I or T and hs-cTn. The timing of intervention is important because the sooner a heart attack patient is treated, the more likely it is to save lives. Point-of-care testing (POCT) devices have been developed in recent years. This paper aims to evaluate the advances of troponin testing with POCT and its potential in clinical practice for patients with acute coronary syndrome.
