Abstract
In the Viet Nam Hospital Quality Standard, the first version issued in 2013 [1], in criterion A3.2, there are 12 sub-criterions, with the name Criterion is “Patients are examined and treated in departments neat and tidy". Although till the updated version in 2016 [2], that the word "5S" officially appeared in 17 sub-criterions of A3.2, but 2013 can be considered as the first milestone in the road of bringing 5S to hospitals. And during the past 10 years, 5S has gradually become more familiar, contributing more value to the patient care of each nurse in Vietnam.
