Abstract
Objectives: Survey the needs for continuing education of Cardiovascular nurses in Vietnam. Point out the related factors affecting the decision to select and finance for the training programs.
Subjects and Methods: A cross-sectional descriptive study on 301 Cardiovascular nurses in hospitals across the country using an online survey.
Result: The group of subjects participating in the study had an average age of 34.2, the ratio of men over women was approximately 1:2 with the majority of professional qualifications from college or higher (97.0%). The majority of nurses chose online training (46.8%) and the current work area is the only factor resulted to be statistically significantly associated with the decision to choose the method of training. Research indicated a huge demand for training across all subjects related to Cardiology among nurses. However, most are not willing to pay large sums of money for training courses and age is a contributing factor to this decision.
Conclusion: The needs for continuing training programs in nurses specializing in Cardiology is very high. However, there are many factors affecting the continuing training demands and need to be considered when organizing training courses.
