Abstract
Atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease is a leading cause of death in Vietnam, yet integrating cardiovascular risk assessment into routine clinical practice remains challenging. Since 2021, the Vietnam National Heart Association has led a project to promote cardiovascular risk management through the SCORE_VN platform, built on the European Society of Cardiology SCORE2 and SCORE2-OP models for high-risk countries. Over four years, the platform recorded more than 1.17 million visits, 105,669 completed risk assessments and 8,278 complete clinical records across 21 of 34 provinces and cities. Drawing on available evidence, development and implementation experience, and recommendations from an Expert Council meeting, the SCORE_VN Working Group issued six consensus statements: maintaining SCORE_VN as the standardised method in primary prevention; prioritising its role in clinical decision support; integrating it into routine care alongside continuing medical education; multidisciplinary implementation with patient involvement; supporting continuous patient management; and progressing toward a unified national approach. The recommendations also guide further development across clinical application, platform, research and policy.
